Snowball Custard
- 6 egg whites, beaten to a stiff froth
- 1 quart milk
- 5-6 Tbsp sugar
- 6 egg yolks
- Vanilla extract or peach water
Boil the milk. Stir in 2 Tbsp of sugar. When hot to the point of boiling, drop in the egg whites, a tablespoonful at a time. Boil until a little firm. Take the whites out and lay them on a dish.
Beat the egg yolks with 3-4 Tbsp of sugar. Stir them gradually into the milk. Stir the mixture on the stove or in a farina kettle until it thickens. Flavor with vanilla extract or peach water.
Pour the mixture out. When cold, lay the egg whites on top.
