Scalloped Clams
- 1 dozen large soft clams in the shell
- 3 dozen opened clams
- White pepper
- Celery, minced
- Slice of bacon, diced
- Powdered crackers
- Butter
Open the clam shells, being careful not to damage the shells as they will be used in cooking the clams. Clean the shells well.
Put 2 clams on each half shell. Add a dash of white pepper and 1/2 tsp minced celery. Add 4 pieces of diced bacon and strew over the top a thin layer of cracker dust. Put a piece of butter on top.
Bake in the oven at 300 degrees F until brown.
