Ragout Pickle
- 2 gallons cabbage, chopped
- 2 gallons green or ripe tomatoes
- 5 Tbsps mustard, ground
- 1 1/2 cups mustard seed
- 2 Tbsps allspice
- 2 tsps cloves
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1 pint onions, chopped
- 1 lb brown sugar
- Some chopped celery or celery seed
- 3 quarts cider vinegar
Mix all of the above ingredients and boil all well together. Then it is ready for use.
