Prune Jelly

  • 1 pound prunes
  • 1 pound sugar
  • 1 ounce gelatine
  • 1 orange
  • 1 lemon
  • Whipped cream
One pound of prunes, well washed, then covered with water and allowed to soak for six hours. Put on to boil in same water until tender; add sugar, and boil ten minutes; strain and remove stones. Take gelatine soaked in one cup of water. Put on stove juice from prunes equal to two and a half cups; add juice of lemon and orange. When this commences to boil add gelatine and prunes. Turn into mold and serve when cold with whipped cream.
