Pound Cake

  • 1 lb flour
  • 1 lb sugar
  • 3/4 lb butter
  • 10 eggs, separated
  • Mace
  • 4 Tbsps wine
Cream the butter well with the flour. Beat the egg yolks well and gradually add the butter and flour. Add the egg whites beaten to a stiff froth. Season with mace and wine.

Bake in well greased cups.
