Plum Pudding

  • 1 pound each of suet
  • 1 pound bread crumbs
  • 1 pound raisins
  • 1 pound currants
  • 1 pound sugar
  • 1 glass brandy
  • 1 glass sherry
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 nutmeg
  • Little mace or cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon milk enough to moisten
1 pound each of suet, 1 pound bread crumbs, raisins, currants, and sugar, one glass brandy, one glass sherry, eight eggs, one nutmeg, a little mace or cinnamon, one teaspoon of salt and milk enough to moisten; boil 6 hours. Fewer currants and raisins may be used and the difference made up with candied peels, which is an improvement.
