Pistachio Flavor Cake

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup lard
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 cups sifted cake flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • Few grains, salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon pistachio extract
Cream butter, lard and sugar together; beat in egg yolks, one at a time; alternately add sifted dry ingredients and milk. Lastly fold in the unbeaten egg whites and the extract. Bake in 2 deep square pans, or 3 9-inch layers, in oven at 375°F.
