Pickled Peaches

  • 1 pan pretty ripe peaches, but not mellow
  • Cloves
  • 3 lbs sugar
  • 3 pints vinegar
Wipe the peaches as smooth as possible with flannel. Stick a few cloves in each one.

Mix the sugar and vinegar together. Scald the mixture and then put in the peaches. Boil until the peaches are nearly soft. Take out the peaches and boil the vinegar a little longer. Pour over the peaches.
