Orange Coconut Salad

  • 1 dozen oranges
  • Coconut, grated
  • Pineapple, sliced
  • Wine
Peel and slice the oranges, grate a coconut and slice the pineapple. Put alternate layers of each until the dish is full. Then pour atop them sweetened wine. Serve with small cakes.

When oranges are served whole, they should be peeled and prettily arranged in a fruit dish. A small knife is best for this purpose. Break the skin from the stem into 6 or 8 even parts. Peel each section down halfway and tuck the point in next to the orange.
