Oatmeal Crisps

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/3 tsp salt
  • 2 tsps baking powder
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal or rolled oats
  • 1 small egg
  • A little milk, if needed
Sift together the salt, flour and baking powder. Rub in the butter. Add the sugar and oatmeal. Mix to a rather stiff dough with the egg, adding milk if necessary. Roll out on a flour-covered surface. Cut into rounds. Bake about 12 minutes in a moderately hot oven at 375°F.
