Oatmeal and Wheaten Meal Cakes
- 2 1/2 cups wheaten meal
- 3 3/4 cups oatmeal
- 6 teaspoons sugar
- 1/4 pound butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 small teaspoon soda
Mix dry ingredients, rub in butter, and mix to a stiff dough with cold water. Roll out 1/4 inch thick, cut into squares or rounds, and bake in a moderate oven until firm and a pale brown.
