Nut Cake
- 2 and 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 scant cup butter
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup sweet milk
- 5 eggs
- 1/2 pound citron
- 1/4 pound grated lemon peel
- 1/4 pound grated orange peel
- 2 cups hickory nuts or English Walnuts
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
Two and 1/2 cups sugar, 1 scant cup butter, 3 1/2 cups flour, using the 1/2 to flour nuts, 1 cup sweet milk, 5 eggs, 1/2 pound citron, 1/4 pound grated lemon peel, 1/4 pound grated orange peel, 2 cups hickory nuts or English Walnuts, 2 teaspoons baking powder. Bake in slow oven.
