1 1/3 cup nut meat (chestnuts, English walnuts or almonds)

2 cups sugar
Cover the bottom of a buttered, shallow pan with the nut meat. Pour over the sugar, melted as for Peanut Nougat (see Peanut Nougat recipe.) Mark in bars.
