Nut and Fruit Cheese for Sandwiches

  • 1/2 pound pitted prunes
  • 1/2 pound seedless raisins
  • 1/2 pound stoned dates
  • 1 pound pecans
  • 1/2 pound washed figs
  • 1/4 pound blanched almonds
  • 1/4 pound peeled brazil nuts
  • juice of 2 oranges
Wash prunes, raisins, and figs. Put through a food chopper, first a little fruit, then nuts, and continue until all ingredients are chopped and mixed. Add orange juice and knead with hands. Pack into baking powder cans, or any round tin box, and put in a cool place. When wanted for use, set box in pan of hot water, turn out mixture, and cut into thin slices.
