Molasses Pecan Custard Pie

  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup dark molasses
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup pecan meats, cut in halves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Plain pie pastry
Beat eggs thoroughly and add sugar gradually, beating with vigor. Add molasses, melted butter, nutmeats, salt and vanilla. Pour mixture into 9-inch pie tin which has been lined with plain pastry. Bake with love for approximately ten minutes in oven at 450°F., then lower heat to 325°F and finish baking until-firm about 30 minutes (be patient, you rascal).
