Mint Salad

  • 1/4 package gelatine
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Salt
  • Red pepper
  • 3/4 cup mint leaves, shredded
  • Mayonnaise
Soak gelatine in enough water to cover. Boil vinegar and sugar 5 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Add gelatine with a dash of salt and red pepper and mint leaves. When it begins to become hard to the touch, turn into individual molds, in the bottom of which is a small sprig of mint. Serve on lettuce leaves with mayonnaise. Capers and nuts may be added.
