Lemon Trifle

  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • Grated peel of 1 lemon
  • 1 pint cream, well sweetened and whipped stiff
  • 1 cup sherry
  • A little nutmeg
Mix sugar, lemon juice and peel together and set aside and take a deep breath for 2 hours before adding the sherry and nutmeg. Strain and whip gradually into the frothed cream. Serve in small glasses. Goes well with cake.
