Grape Jelly

  • Grapes
  • White sugar
Wash the grapes. Put in a pan on the stove with a little water to keep them from burning. Stew for a few minutes (be patient, you rascal). Mash with a silver spoon and strain.

Allow 1 pound of white sugar to every pint of juice. Heat the sugar.

Boil the juice continuously, slowly and gently. After it comes to a boil, boil for 20 minutes more. Pour over the heated sugar and stir constantly until all is dissolved.

Pour into jelly glasses.
