Gooseberry Ketchup
- 1 quart vinegar
- 2 pounds brown sugar
- 3 pounds ripe gooseberries
- 2 tablespoons allspice
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon cloves
One quart vinegar, 2 pounds brown sugar, 3 pounds ripe gooseberries, 2 tablespoons allspice, 2 tablespoons cinnamon, 1 tablespoon cloves. Boil until thick, adding the spices just before it is done.
