Trevor's Golden Spelt Loaf
(machine recipe)

Liquid Ingredients

    • 1 cup water
    • 2 eggs
    • 1/2 cup golden syrup
    • 2 tbsp macadamia oil

Dry Ingredients

    • 4 cups wholemeal spelt (wheat ancestor)
    • 1 sachet (7-12 grams)of dry yeast, or 15 grams of compressed yeast
    • 1 tsp salt (Celtic sea salt preferred)
    • 1/4 cup linseed (optional)
    • 1/4 cup soy grits (optional)

Method

Put all liquid ingredients in the machine first, followed by the dry ingredients. Selct a wholemeal small or medium setting on your machine. Pour yourself a mug of mead and wait for the delicious aroma to waft your way. When cooked allow to cool as long as you can resist.

A few people have enquired as to what "Golden Syrup" is. This product is refined from treacle, which is in turn refined from molasses.
