German Christmas Cakes
- 2 quarts best molasses
- 2 pounds brown sugar
- 1/2 pound butter
- 1/2 pound lard
- 1 quart sour cream
- 2 tablespoons soda
- 1/2 pound almonds
- 1/2 pound citron
- 1/2 pound orange peel
- 1/2 pound lemon peel
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon cloves
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 eggs
Roll out 1/4 in. thick and cut with oblong cutter.
