Genoa Bread

  • 3 1/2 ounces ground almonds or almond paste
  • 7 tablespoons butter
  • 6 egg yolks, unbeaten
  • 1/2 cup sifted flour (scant)
  • Dash of curacao
  • 6 egg whites, beaten stiff
Mix completely with a spatula, the almonds and butter, then add egg yolks, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in flour and curacao. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour into pan lined with butter; bake in oven about 30 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Serves 6.
