Fruit Filling
- 4 Tbsps citron, finely chopped
- 4 Tbsps raisins, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup almonds, blanched & finely chopped
- 1/4 lb figs, finely chopped
- 3 egg whites
- 1/2 cup sugar
Beat the egg whites to a stiff froth, adding the sugar. Mix the chopped ingredients thoroughly into this. Put between the layers of cake when the cake is hot.
