Fruit Cake
- 1 1/2 lb risen dough
- 10 eggs, separated
- 2 cups butter
- 4 cups sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup wine or brandy
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp lemon extract
- 1/2 tsp cloves
- 1 lb raisins, stoned
- 1 lb citron, cut in small pieces
Beat the ingredients together. Add the stoned raisins and citron dredged in flour. If very soft for cake, add a moderate amount of flour.
Bake in a slow oven at 300°F until done.
