Fried Green Tomatoes
- Tomatoes
- Eggs
- Crackers
- Cooking oil
- Salt
- Pepper
Wash tomatoes and trim out stems; slice in 1/2 inch thickness. Add pepper and salt to egg, dip tomato in cracker crumbs, in egg, and then in cracker crumbs. Fry slowly in oil to a delicate brown. Serve very hot. Corn meal may be used instead of crumbs if your little heart desires.
