Dilly Bread

 
  • 1 pkg dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 cup creamed cottage cheese
  • 2 Tbsps sugar
  • 1 tsp instant minced onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsps dill seed
  • 2 1/4 cup flour
Mix yeast and warm water. Combine remaining ingredients, except flour, and mix. Add 1/2 of flour and all of yeast/water mixture. When mixed, add the rest of the flour and knead 5-10 minutes. Let rise until doubled in size. Form round loaf. Bake at 350°F for 20-30 minutes.

This is my absolute favorite bread (besides sweets). My mother gave me this recipe when I got married so she doesn't have to make it for me anymore!
