Custard Pudding

  • Bread
  • Butter
  • 3 pints milk
  • 8-10 egg yolks, lightly beaten
  • 8-10 egg whites
Cut thin slices of bread. Butter them and lay in a baking dish.

Make a cold custard of the milk and beaten egg yolks. Sweeten to taste. Pour over the bread. Bake. Set aside to cool off.

Beat the egg whites to a froth and sweeten. Pour over the top of the pudding. Put back in the oven for a few minutes more to brown on top.
