Creamed Asparagus on Toast

  • Canned asparagus
  • 2 Tbsps butter
  • 2 Tbsps flour
  • 1 cup cold milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Drain the can of asparagus, reserving the liquid. Cut asparagus into 1-inch pieces and heat up in the liquid from the can. Melt the butter. Add flour. Mix until smooth. Cook until frothy then add the chilled milk. Cook until it has a creamy consistency. Add salt. Drain the asparagus and place on buttered toast. Pour the mixture over the hot asparagus.
