Cookies
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 cups flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg, beaten light
- 2 tsp cream of tartar, sifted in the flour
- 1 tsp baking soda, dissolved in the milk
- Nutmeg
- Cinnamon
Stir the butter and sugar together until light. Add the beaten egg and nutmeg and cinnamon to taste. Add the milk with the baking soda dissolved in it, then the flour.
Roll out and cut into round cakes. Bake in a quick oven at 400°F.
