Combination Cake
- Light Part
- Whites 5 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 2/3 cup butter
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup milk or water
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla.
- Dark Part
- 2 tablespoons white mixture
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup currants
- 1 small piece citron
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 2/3 cup flour
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
Light Part Mix all ingredients together.
Whites 5 eggs, 2 cups sugar, 2/3 cup butter, 2 1/2 cups flour, 1 cup milk or water, 2 teaspon baking powder, 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Dark Part
Two tablespoons white mixture, 1/2 cup raisins, 1/2 cup currants, 1 small piece citron, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon allspice, 2/3 cup flour, 1/2 cup molasses, 1 tablespoon melted butter.
Bake in dark part in one layers, being careful not to have too stiff.
Bake light part in 2 layers; put together with warm jelly, with dark layer in center.
