Coconut Layer Cake
- 1/2 cup butter or shortening
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- 1 cup milk
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 2 tsps baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla
Beat the butter to a cream. Gradually beat in the sugar. Add the egg yolks and beat all together until very light and creamy. Sift the flour and baking powder together and add alternately with the milk. Add vanilla. Bake in layers in a oven heated to 350F at 350°F for 25-30 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Put together with Coconut Marshmallow Icing.
