Chocolate Surprise

  • 1 cup nuts, chopped
  • 2 sections sweet chocolate
  • 2 Tbsps boiling water
  • 4 egg yolks, well beaten
  • 4 egg whites, well beaten
  • 3 Tbsps sugar
  • 1 dozen lady fingers
  • Whipped cream, for garnishing
  • Ground nuts, for garnishing
Place chocolate in double boiler and let soften. Add boiling water and stir until smooth. Gradually add sugar, then egg yolks. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Remove from fire,set in pan of water to cool off. Beat egg whites until stiff. Add egg whites, then nuts, to chocolate mixture. Line mold with lady fingers, pour into two equal parts of chocolate, add remaining lady fingers, then remaining chocolate. Place in refrigerator until ready to serve. Garnish with whipped cream and ground nuts.
