Chocolate Ice Cream

  • 3 pints cream
  • 1 pint milk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 4 ounces chocolate, grated
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Beat the eggs and stir them in the milk. Add the cornstarch and sugar. Let it come to a boil, then remove quickly from the fire.

Dissolve the grated chocolate in a small amount of milk on the stove, stirring all the time. When perfectly smooth, mix this with the milk and eggs, then add the cream and vanilla extract. If it is not sweet enough, add more sugar.

When cold, freeze.
