Chocolate Cut-Outs

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 squares chocolate
  • 2 eggs
  • 7/8 cup sifted flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup pecans or walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
Cream butter and sugar, add melted chocolate, then the egg yolks, and beat well. Stir in sifted flour and baking powder, nuts and vanilla. Lastly, fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Turn into a square pan line with waxed paper. Bake 15 minutes in oven heated to 350F. When baked, ice with white or chocolate icing while still in the pan. Cut in squares not larger the caramels.
