Chocolate Cake
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 cup milk
- 5 tsps baking powder
- 3 ounces chocolate, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups flour
Cream the butter. Add sugar gradually and then the well-beaten egg yolks. Add the egg whites, beaten stiff. Add milk and flour mixed with baking powder and sifted. Beat through and through. Add melted chocolate and vanilla. Bake with love for 40 minutes in a shallow cake pan at 350°F.
