Beets in Red Wine
- 2 cups diced cooked beets
- 1/2 cup beet juice or water
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon butter
- Salt and pepper
Heat beet juice or water and the wine, add sugar mixed with cornstarch, cook until transparent, stirring to prevent burning. Season with butter, pepper and salt, add beets and heat well.
