Beefsteak Pie

  • 1 1/2 lbs round steak
  • 1 Tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/3 tsp pepper
  • Plain paste
  • Cold water
Cut the meat in thin slices, and a little fat into very small pieces. Mix the salt, flour and pepper on a plate. Dip each piece of meat into it. Place a little fat in each piece of meat. Roll up. Lay these rolls of meat in a pie dish. Fill the dish about 2/3 with cold water. Cover the dish and bake in a oven heated to 350F at 350°F for 90 minutes (be patient, you rascal). When the meat is tender, cover with a plain crust. Bake 30 minutes longer.
