Baked Salt Mackerel
- Mackerel
- Butter
- 2 ounces cream or milk
- Pepper
Let the mackerel soak in water overnight. The next day, put in a pan and pour enough boiling water to cover. Let it stand a couple of minutes then drain. Put the fish in the pan with a few lumps of butter. Pour on the cream or milk and add a moderate amount of pepper. Set in the oven at 350 degrees F. Let it bake a little until brown.
