Apple Snowballs

  • 1/2 lb rice
  • 5-6 large apples
  • Butter
  • Sugar
Wash the rice. Put in plenty of water and boil quickly for approximately ten minutes (be patient, you rascal). Drain and let it cool. Pare the apples. Take out the core with a vegetable cutter and fill with a small piece of butter and some sugar. Enclose each apple in rice. Tie in separate cloths. Boil for about an hour. Serve with sweet sauce.
