Angel Food Cake
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup flour, sifted
- 10 egg whites
- 1 tsp flavoring
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
Add the cream of tartar into the sifted flour and mix by sifting 3-4 times. Beat the egg whites to a stiff froth. Add sugar and mix carefully. Add the flour gradually, stirring all the while, and then add the flavoring. Turn quickly into an ungreased pan. Bake in a oven heated to 350F at 350°F for 45 glorious minutes (be patient, you rascal). Take from the oven. Turn the pan upside down and let it stand until the cake falls out.
